 source: www.intel.com

Can you imagine the size of a computer is just like an SD card? How small it is? When I was read this article, I was very immpressed with the new technology by Intel. Intel introduce Edison, a small-sized mini computers and the size is just an SD card. Powered by a dual-core processor chips, this mini computers running Linux as its operating system. In addition, Edison is also based on Intel's dual-core 22nm chips, and it is also had a basic support of WIFI and Bluetooth functionality, and it also has the ability to connect with their own application stores .

The Intel Edison is aiming to sell this technology to the developers to build up more devices in the future. Intel has announced several other prototype of devices that they were just showing Edison, which is a computer the size of an SD card-based by Quark technology.  Intel Edison is focusing on developers and used in developing the devices that can share with various devices. An introduction of Intel Edison will probably continue to bring various innovations from the developer, and maybe we will see some devices that used the same technology starting this year.

Cybercrimes are getting worst!!

Cybercrimes

Have you heard about "Cybercrimes"? Cybercrimes are fraudulent activities committed using computers and communications networks, particularly the Internet. In Malaysia, the average of cybercrime involves about 16,661 cases and the lost is about RM1.8 billion in 2013. Most of the victims are not realize that they have been involves into this situation which is the nature of this crimes is getting someone to a "new relationship" from Internet with a new "cyber friends". More over it become worst when it becomes to trust their new friends and will gives anything to this particular strangers. In this post, I would like to share with you about some cybercrimes which was reported to Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) nowadays. Here are some of it;

Parcel Scam
Victims of parcel scam cases that has been reported will normally get to know the suspects through media social networks. The suspects will then try to convince the victim that they’ve fall in love with the victim and intend to send a parcel to the victim as proof of their love. In that parcel which is consists of handphone, laptop, jewellery, perfumes, flowers and money. Once the parcel is sent, the victim will be contacted by someone claiming to be a customs officer or courier company, and informed about the parcel’s arrival. The victim is then ordered to pay tax or insurance because the package has been found to contain undeclared funds or valuable items. The victim will also receive calls from locals who state that the clearance money needs to be paid into a particular account belonging to a local. The victim only realises the scam after the promised parcel is not received and the syndicate continues to request money from the victim through a variety of excuses.

Love Scam
The modus operandi used in this type of fscam is not much different from the parcel scam. The victim will usually get to know each other and get into a relationship with the suspect through the internet. The suspects will claim that they want to come to Malaysia to marry the victim. However, upon arrival the suspect or syndicate member will call the victim and claim that the suspect has been arrested by the authorities in an airport. The victim then needs to pay a sum of money to release the suspect. Once the money had been transfered to third party account, the suspect will gone.
African Scam
Commercial and Internet scams are common and they are often initiated from outside Malaysia. A particular region may prefer a certain type of scam more than others. For example, African nationals and syndicates are found to use the internet frequently, particularly social networks such as Facebook, Tagged, Twitter and others in order to find and deceive their victims. They tend to be a lovely person so that the victims will be trust them in order to get their money. If you properly read all the email that they sent to the victims, how they create a word or sentences, you will realize that something will happen somewhere. There are so many grammartical error when you read their sentences. As I can say that, it's all about love!!! The don't care what people said. They are in their own world!

Spoofing
Another regional trend that has been observed tells us that Taiwanese syndicates will often use a technique called ‘ID spoofing’ for their scams. They will impersonate bank officers, call the victims and inform them about their outstanding credit card debts. Occasionally, a syndicate member will also impersonate a police officer and call the victim to accuse them of involvement in a money laundering case. Interestingly, the number that appears on the victim’s mobile phone is the actual phone number of the bank or police. Investigations found that the syndicate members use ‘ID spoofing’ which allows them to determine the numbers that will be displayed on the victim’s phone. In such cases, the victim is duped by the call and will comply with the orders given until they are finally instructed to transfer money to the syndicate’s account.

E-Banking Fraud

Most of E-Banking fraud casesdue to the negligence of the customer who disclose their personal identification number (PIN) and passwords to a third party. In most cases, the victim receives an SMS alleging that the victim has won a cash prize. To claim the prize, the victim is instructed to open an internet banking account and follow the instruction given by the stranger. This includes disclosing their PIN. A mobile phone syndicate acts as the medium to receive the SMS with the bank's verification code.

Using social media to get a job - Does it work??

Using social media to get a job - Does it Work?

The shift in a lifestyle and economic globalization makes the relationship between employee and employer has also undergone a dynamic reassessment. The norms of recruitment strategies and new-age recruitment methods also change nowadays. There are two types of social media that are very famous nowadays which had been used by employees to get a job. Firstly is known as Linkedin and the other one is a job portals or online classified. However, there are advantages and disadvantages by using social media to find a job.

Linkedin is great to advertise ourselves and past achievements from the previous employers. It is also used to access the online capabilities of the company so that we can decide if the company's culture will fit with the employees needs. However, the employers should be mindful of what their online profiles through their company and it should be able to attract the right talent with what is online. Besides that, it is easy to use the job portals or online classified to get a job. While it is easy to submit resumes to as many portals as possible, employees should not make mistakes of sending a generic resume or sincerity will show through or it equally trashed.

While it is great that many companies advertise their vacancies on their websites, candidates should be more careful on writing their resumes that is without cover letters, written generally with no focus on the company that they applying to, and copied in email to a whole bunch of other employers. a thoughtless email blast just shows that candidates are lazy, careless and not interested in the job.

It is the best practices of use any social media platform and it become even more when someone looking for a job. By using the social media, it will also help others people to contribute their expertise in the communities where they are working. It is simple, abroad and everything is just in a finger tip!

BlackBerry

Blackberry is too awesome!!!

I'm not a new user of a BlackBerry Smartphones. There might be some of my friends who do not know and just found out that I'm use it. Before this I'm generally a fan of Nokia, and I always criticize why people out there choose the BlackBerry phone in their daily basis. You don't know it if you didn't try it rite? My first BlackBerry phone was given by my husband as a "birthday present" in 2011. I've got a BlackBerry Torch! I don't know how to express my feeling on that time. I'm sorry, I'm not interested in the Samsung or iPhone, although many people's have intention to buy it.

Firstly, I would like to make a confession that I still love the Nokia. The proof is that I'm still keep my old N71 handphone until now. The question is, why do I switch to a BlackBerry even though I still love a Nokia brand? Is that because of the phone itself, the function or many people are using it? BBM? The answer is a "BBM". On that time when I start using a Blackberry, I was really excited with BBM. Most of the time I keep texting my friends using a free BlackBerry Massenger (BBM). Me and my friends keep exchanging our BBM Pin and we enjoy our free massage through BBM.

Is that only the reason why am I falling in love with BlackBerry? The answer is as follows;

Email

The main reason why I switched to a BlackBerry is because of the demands of work that requires me to monitor my email inbox each time. Before I buy a BlackBerry, I use the standard way to check my e-mail using Microsoft Outlook or through the web mail. However, both of these ways require me to be in front of a PC and an Internet connection. Due to an e-mail my office is not using Microsoft Mail for Exchange server , then push e-mail function can’t be executed. The famous BlackBerry push e-mail system is the same, and that's become one of the main reasons why I want to use the BlackBerry. If anyone want to send an e-mail to me, it will automatically sends it to my BlackBerry. Just like the SMS system, I don’t have to log in into the web mail or Microsoft Outlook but just open my phone and read the email. E-mail that provided by Blackberry is not limited to the corporate address only, but you can also receive or sent an e-mail through Hotmail, Yahoo or GMail into your BlackBerry phone. If you use an e-mail as in intensive way, BlackBerry is a phone that's suit for you.

Speed

BlackBerry System is due to its speed, meaning that if there is an e-mail send to you, you will receive it at that time as well, and the delay is very rare. And it is not limited to e-mail only, you can also post, comment or reply on Facebook , or mention on Twitter. Furthermore, due to the compression system used by BlackBerry, then there is no real impact in terms of speed if you are in a 3G network though. Because of my main reason of using a BlackBerry is for an e-mail purposes, and occasionally using social apps like BBM , Facebook and Twitter, so I thought that using a BlackBerry is really awesome!!
